Floroma Old Age Home, nestled at 1 Berlandina Street in Roodepoort's Western precinct, offers a heartfelt embrace to its residents, fostering a profound sense of belonging.

Our dedicated team of professionals, comprising nurses, caregivers, social workers, and activity coordinators, epitomize unwavering commitment as they diligently safeguard the well-being of our cherished residents.

An array of engaging social and recreational activities awaits, designed to invigorate and captivate our residents. We warmly invite families to join us in these endeavours, forging enduring bonds and nurturing a continuum of connection.

At Floroma Old Age Home, every resident is treated with profound dignity and utmost respect.

Established in 1953, Floroma, a partially subsidized home and non-profit organization, stands as a beacon of care and compassion, offering accommodations to the elderly populace of Roodepoort, Florida, and Maraisburg. The name "Floroma" pays homage to these three vibrant suburbs, encapsulating their essence within our cherished community.

The Home offers affordable accommodation to 66 Frail elderly persons, who need 24 hour nursing care, and 202 independent elderly persons, living in cottages.

Non-Profit Organisation Non-Profit Organisation

The Home is registered as a Non-Profit Organisation under the Non-Profit Organisation Act 1997 (002—11NPO) and receives a limited subsidy.

The Management Committee consists of individual members of the broader community and representatives of various community organizations, and serves as the governing body of the Home.


Support and Donations Support and Donations

Various community organisation, schools and churches are supporting the Home by way of donations and help with maintenance.

Fundraising is done on a continuous basis by a Fundraising Committee.

The proceeds thereof are used to keep the accommodation fees as affordable as possible.
